You give us a first name, an email address, your date of birth and the city you live in. That is it to get started. We ask for your date of birth because TrueHearts is strictly for adults aged 18 and over, and we check it rather than take your word for it.
You will not be asked for payment details. The free plan is genuinely free and has no time limit.
We send one link. Clicking it proves the address belongs to you and switches your profile on. Unconfirmed accounts are never shown to other members, which is the first thing that keeps throwaway and bulk-created accounts off the site.
Upload up to six photos. Then take a short selfie in a pose we show you on screen. Our moderation team compares it with your uploaded pictures and adds a verified badge to your profile. The selfie itself is never shown to other members and is deleted after review.
Verification is optional, but verified members appear higher in suggestions - and most people filter for the badge.
Long-term relationship, marriage, dating to see where it goes, or friendship first. Your answer sits on your profile where everyone can see it, and you can filter other people by theirs. It is the single biggest reason conversations here go somewhere.
We suggest profiles based on the things you told us: your intentions, your age range, how far you are willing to travel, and what you have said you care about. If you both say yes, you match and can message each other.
Nobody can message you unless you have matched. There is no inbox full of messages from strangers.
Chat on TrueHearts for as long as you want before sharing a phone number. When you are ready to meet, our safety centre has a short checklist worth reading first.
Not feeling it? Unmatch, block, or hide your profile. No explanation needed, and the other person is not told why.
