Safety centre

What we do to keep TrueHearts safe, and what you can do to stay in control.

What we do

Our side of the deal

Photo verification

A selfie check confirms the person in the photos is the person using the account. Reviewed by our team, not only by software.

Human moderation

Reports are reviewed by trained moderators. Accounts that break the guidelines are warned, suspended or removed.

Automated screening

We screen new profiles and messages for known scam patterns, and hold suspicious accounts for review before they can contact anyone.

No unsolicited messages

Only people you have matched with can message you. Blocking is instant and permanent - they will not see you again.

Strictly adults only

We verify date of birth at sign-up and remove any account we believe belongs to someone under 18.

Your data, your call

Hide your profile, download your data, or delete your account and everything in it - all self-service, no phone call required.

Your side

Practical advice worth two minutes

While you are chatting

  • Keep conversations on TrueHearts until you feel comfortable. If something goes wrong, we can act on what happened here.
  • Do not share your home address, workplace, financial details, or documents.
  • Be wary of anyone who moves fast, avoids video calls, or has a reason they cannot meet.
  • Reverse image search a photo if something feels off. It takes ten seconds.

Nobody genuine will ever ask you for money

Not for a flight, a medical bill, customs fees, a crypto investment, or an emergency. This is the most common way people are harmed on dating sites. If money comes up, stop, do not send anything, and report the profile. We will act on it and you will not be blamed.

Before you meet in person

  • Meet somewhere public and busy, in daylight for a first meeting.
  • Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when you expect to be back.
  • Arrange your own transport there and back.
  • Keep your phone charged and your drink with you.
  • You can leave at any point, for any reason. You do not owe anybody an explanation.

How to report someone

Open their profile or your chat and choose Report. Tell us what happened - the more detail, the faster we can act. Reports are confidential; the other person is never told who reported them.

You can also email support@truehearts.example or use our contact form and choose "Report a safety concern". If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Dating should not feel risky
